Our Mission

We empower students and teachers to immerse themselves and transform their schoolyards into classrooms without walls to create a sense of responsibility and ownership over their education and environment.

Our Vision

Schoolyards should be dynamic outdoor classrooms that encourage students to interact with nature and learn from experience. We hope those involved in the design, development, and upkeep will establish a sense of ownership over these spaces.

Over time, through restoration, innovative teaching methods, and community stewardship, we will foster a generation of students, prepared to make a positive impact on their environment and society.

Our Goal

Our goal is to create outdoor spaces that inspire students to embrace nature and experiential learning, while building a connection with the natural world. We want these schoolyards to be hubs where educators introduce innovative teaching methods and students take ownership of their community. By involving students in the development and maintenance of these spaces, we empower them to make a positive impact on their environment and society. Our hope is to create a generation of engaged students ready to make a meaningful difference.

Through reflection, we’ve established the three main components (our three branches) that represent our process: Restoration, Education, and Stewardship. By focusing on these pieces, we are able to more easily plan projects and support our mission.
